 Wedding Budget Tips
A Dream Wedding on a Budget?
By Gigi Mill
How do you plan a dream wedding without busting your budget or looking cheap?
I am sure there is zillions of advice out there and by now all you brides to
be or wanna be brides must be tired of hearing it. Well I have to put in my
two cents (or two dollars for that matter seeing how the inflation has hit us
all in the past decade or so).
First of all you have to face the fact that weddings are expensive and according
to one national survey the average cost of wedding is anywhere between $25,000
to $45,000. Now the million dollar question you have to ask yourself is that
whether you think this substantial investment is worth the price for the ceremony
that may or may not bind you with your prince charming till death do us part?
If the answer is Absolutely, then lets get down to earth for a second and be
sensible about the whole thing. I know sensible is boring but it does save you
getting into unnecessary debt for the rest of your natural life.
Now the next step is to ask help from well wishers around you how in getting
your fantasy wedding without spending tens of thousands of dollars. There have
been lot of books, magazines, TV shows and Blogs of course to steer you in the
right direction if your well wishers are too busy with their own lives.
After the initial research and soul searching and provided the wedding is still
"on" by this time go to work. There are tons of resources for budgeting
your dream without looking cheap and if your head is still in cloud nine and
you cannot deal with the practicality of the situation my advise to you is get
the Wedding Planner, put your budget in front of the planner and save your self
all the hassle and have a wonderful wedding, after all "You deserve it".
Now there are some pointers you can give your Planner to show her who is actually
in charge of the show. Some of those pointers which will elevate you in the
eyes of your planner are
1. Selecting Your Wedding Date
Now be very pragmatic (I know its hard at a moment like this)about selecting
a wedding date. Everybody knows that the Peek wedding season is between May
and September. May be April or October wedding would be a good idea.
2. Wedding Location
Some Locations that do not specialize in hosting weddings are a good alternative
to Hotel ballrooms and banquet halls.
3. Style and Size
A small guest list is very desirable at this point and will open doors at lot
of less expensive locations
4. Wedding Essentials and Accessories
Buy Off Season and again Buy Off Season You can even buy great designer stuff
at reasonably affordable prices when everybody is making room for new season
inventories
5. Reception and Ceremony
Skip on Lavish sit-down dinners, opt for creative decor, Favors and Gifts
And last but not least Enjoy Your Wedding Day as it is your special day and
it is all about you.
